 | HIGHLIGHTS OF THE CONFERENCE |
Highlights of the conference comprise:
Pre-conference training courses will be held by the practitioners and stakeholders from countries and international organizations. These will be an opportunity for HIA alliances to join the capacity building session. The training courses will be held during 6-7 December 2008.
Keynote speech and panel discussion addressed by the experts or leaders of the international and country's HIA development. The topic of speech and panel will be along the conference's theme. The forum aims to initiate and to ignite the driving thought to further the opinions exchange.
At-scene conference will be an innovative forum through the area based conference. These will be prepared for the participants to join the real experiences of local communities. The international similar experiences will be exchanged in 5 policy issues. These are water resource management, urban development, industrial development, agricultural development and informal worker sector.
Chiang Mai Declaration, the participants will be invited to join the participatory process to collaborate their wills and consolidate into statement pertaining the cooperation to further develop the HIA for the region.
Cultural activities will be accommodated to bring the intimate and friendly atmosphere leading to the collaborative networking.
